Climate changes and environmental challenges are already here and constitute major challenges for humanity. In other words, those challenges now are more obvious than ever. At the same time, those challenges are getting more serious and are threatening the future of humanity on Earth more and more. This implies that humanity should react and find solutions for problems that have been discussed for decades and have now become a reality. In this context, people can not act on their own but we need political engagement which is very important in this context as politicians have the tools for change. Unfortunately, we still discuss whether those challenges exist or not and if we have to tackle them or if we should ignore them. The fact is humanity is facing serious problems with climate change and environmental issues. Therefore, we should consider those problems seriously and address them in our daily life and find solutions for them for a sustainable future.
The matter of environmental challenges is not a question of whether it would lead to a crisis or not but rather the crisis is a fact if humanity does not react now, according to WWF (WWF, ). Our environment is everything around us from live species to everything else that is not alive. However, if we do not take care of it now, we will need to solve bigger issues and more complicated matters in the future. The effects will become more serious and will, consequently, influence other areas beyond the environment and climate. For example, environmental challenges will result in negative economic consequences for all societies in the world. In the same way, the results of an environmental crisis would even influence almost every aspect of our lives.
Consequently, the next generations would inherit a planet that can not be lived on. In other words, humanity needs to ensure a safe world in the future for the next generations and if those challenges that are related to the environment and climate change are not coped with, this would be an impossible mission for humanity. Therefore, we need to take care of our planet and address those matters in better ways in our daily life and in the long term. Otherwise, there is a risk that already in a few decades Earth would not be a good place to live on.
Environmental challenges, climate changes, global warming, and other problems that are related to these challenges are a reality now. Nobody would ever win anything by denying these challenges, of course, if it is not a political matter. That implies that we should listen to all scientific reports that state and draw attention to these problems. It is, to an extent, not worth it to deny those problems because we are living in them and already experiencing their effects. There are comprehensive studies in these areas, according to an IPCC report which states that climate changes are rapid, widespread, and intensifying (IPCC, 2022).
Surprisingly, there still are some people who claim that those changes are no more than political tools to achieve some political points. They mean that the world is exaggerating those problems and the threats are not as described. Having such an attitude toward climate change and environmental challenges is directly harmful to humanity because they contribute to those problems. At the same time, they directly deny the results of scientific studies in this area.
Finally, environmental challenges such as climate change and global warming now are a reality that influences our lives. It is intensifying more than ever and getting more rapid. However, several studies in this area confirm those facts and there is no point in denying them regardless of political point of view or other perspectives because these problems will affect humanity as a whole. Therefore, we should take those problems seriously and humanity should act in solidarity to tackle and address those problems.
